About Rowin Plastics
Who is Rowin Plastics and what do you manufacture? +
Rowin Plastics NV is a Belgian manufacturer of custom corrugated PE/EVA vacuum hoses, founded in 1978 in Heist-op-den-Berg, Belgium. We design and produce flexible plastic hoses for industrial, commercial and consumer applications — serving OEM machine builders and technical distributors worldwide. Our proprietary heat-melt process creates hoses with no welds and no adhesives, and all production is 100% Made in Belgium under ISO 9001.
What makes Rowin's manufacturing process unique? +
Rowin uses a heat-melt forming process with no welding and no adhesives. Standard hose manufacturing often uses bonding joints — these are inherently weak points that can delaminate or crack under cyclic load. Rowin's seamless process eliminates these failure points entirely: consistent wall structure, no delamination risk and longer service life. Rowin also designs and builds its own production machines, enabling specifications no standard machine can achieve.
Where is Rowin located and do you supply internationally? +
Rowin Plastics NV is located at Industriepark 21, 2220 Heist-op-den-Berg, Belgium. All production is carried out here — 100% Made in Belgium. We supply customers across Europe and internationally. Contact us at info@rowin.com to discuss logistics and lead times for your region.
How long has Rowin been manufacturing vacuum hoses? +
Rowin was founded in 1978 — giving us over 45 years of specialised experience in corrugated plastic hose manufacturing. During that time we have developed proprietary production processes, built our own machines, and supplied OEMs and distributors across Europe and internationally.
What types of customers does Rowin serve? +
OEM Machine Builders who need reliable, consistent hose components to exact specifications with engineering support. Technical Distributors and Industrial Wholesalers who stock and distribute industrial components and benefit from Rowin's large stock availability, competitive margins and complete technical documentation.
Products and Stock
What standard hose diameters and lengths does Rowin stock? +
Rowin maintains stock of five diameters: 25mm, 32mm, 38mm, 45mm and 50mm. Standard lengths are 15m, 20m and 30m. Custom lengths up to 30m from a single extrusion run are available, with longer hoses possible via cuffs.
What is the full diameter range available from Rowin? +
Rowin can produce custom hoses from 25mm to 63mm inner diameter with a tolerance of ±0.1mm. Standard stock covers 25mm to 50mm. Diameters from 51mm to 63mm are custom orders with confirmed lead times at quotation.
What materials do Rowin hoses use? +
Primary materials are PE (Polyethylene) and EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate), from very soft and flexible grades to rigid compounds. Specialised compounds are available for high-temperature, chemical exposure, UV-resistant and antistatic or conductive applications.
Does Rowin supply custom cuffs and connectors? +
Yes. Rowin produces welded cuffs, interconnectable cuffs, custom geometry connectors and attachments compatible with major vacuum cleaner and industrial system manufacturers.
Can I request samples before placing a first order? +
Yes. Rowin provides a sample set for new distribution partners as part of onboarding. For OEM custom configurations, samples are produced as part of the engineering validation process.
Custom Manufacturing
What can be customised on a Rowin hose? +
Virtually every parameter: diameter (25 to 63mm at ±0.1mm), length, material grade, hardness, wall construction (single layer, dual-layer Triflex HD, variable Varioflex), colour (single or multi-colour), electrical properties (standard, antistatic, ESD, conductive), reinforcement, profile and connectors.
What is the minimum order quantity for custom hoses? +
Rowin does not impose prohibitive minimum order quantities on custom configurations. Simple customs can be produced in smaller series. Complex configurations with special compounds have higher practical minimums due to material setup. Share your volume expectations at inquiry stage for a realistic assessment.
How long from specification to first sample? +
For most OEM custom projects, Rowin delivers first samples within 3 to 6 weeks from confirmed specification. Timeline depends on spec completeness, material availability and connector complexity.
What information do I need to request a custom quote? +
Essential: inner diameter, length, intended application or environment, estimated annual volume. Helpful: flexibility or stiffness requirements, electrical properties, colour, connector type, compliance needs. Send to info@rowin.com — we return a preliminary quotation within 24 hours.
What is Varioflex and when should I use it? +
Varioflex is Rowin's proprietary variable-specification technology — the ability to change weight, diameter, profile, stiffness and colour of a single hose along its length. Use it when you need reinforced ends with a flexible centre, diameter transitions, or variable weight distribution.
Can Rowin support our engineering team during the design phase? +
Yes — and this is one of the most significant differences between Rowin and a catalogue supplier. Rowin's engineering team can engage at design stage to provide material selection, wall construction recommendations, tolerance review and electrical property specification. Early engagement prevents costly iteration cycles.
Quality and Compliance
Is Rowin ISO 9001 certified? +
Yes. Rowin Plastics NV operates under an ISO 9001 certified quality management system covering design, production, inspection and delivery. Certificate copy available on request.
How does Rowin's quality inspection process work? +
Every Rowin hose is individually inspected before shipment — not sampled per batch. Inspection includes dimensional verification, visual inspection, length verification and connector check. Batch-level quality records are maintained providing full traceability.
What environmental standards does Rowin comply with? +
Rowin integrates up to 25% reusable and recycled materials in our production process without compromising performance or tolerances. We comply with EU manufacturing environmental regulations. Material content declarations are available on request.
Can Rowin provide batch traceability documentation? +
Yes. Full batch traceability records are available on request — typically within 24 hours for recent shipments. Each batch is recorded against customer specification, material lot, production date, inspection results and shipment details.
OEM Partnerships
What does the OEM partnership process look like? +
Five stages: Application Brief — share your requirements. Engineering Review — Rowin proposes materials and design within 24 to 48 hours. Sample and Validate — physical samples produced. Specification Lock — documented baseline set. Series Production — consistent supply with confirmed lead times. Typical timeline from first contact to validated sample: 3 to 6 weeks.
How does Rowin ensure consistency across repeat production runs? +
ISO 9001 quality management, own production machines with direct process parameter control, locked specification documentation, 100% individual hose inspection and full batch traceability. OEM customers moving from catalogue suppliers to Rowin typically report significantly reduced warranty claims within the first year.
Does Rowin offer co-development for new machine designs? +
Yes. Rowin actively supports OEM co-development projects where the hose is part of a new product design. Early engagement means we contribute engineering input that improves performance and reduces iteration cycles. NDAs are available on request.
What industries does Rowin have OEM experience in? +
Industrial and commercial vacuum cleaners, car wash equipment, central vacuum systems, power tools and dust extraction, automatic pool cleaners and APC systems, industrial ducting and media transport.
Distributor Programme
How do I become a Rowin distribution partner? +
Contact info@rowin.com with a brief description of your business. We will arrange an introductory call and, if the fit is right, provide the full Distributor Pack including SKU list, pricing framework, data sheets and sample set. We respond within 24 hours.
Does Rowin offer exclusive distribution arrangements? +
Rowin works with a select group of distribution partners rather than mass distribution. We are open to discussing exclusivity for specific market segments or geographic areas where a partner can demonstrate genuine commitment to developing Rowin's market presence, subject to volume performance criteria.
What technical support does Rowin provide to help distributors sell? +
Product training, full data sheets per SKU, application guide, direct engineering access with 24-hour response, joint technical calls for strategic accounts and co-sell materials for large account presentations.
Can distributors offer Rowin's custom capabilities to their customers? +
Yes — and this is one of the most commercially powerful aspects of the relationship. Rowin allows distributors to offer custom specifications at volumes impractical with larger suppliers, creating genuine competitive advantage for your sales team.
How does Rowin handle quality claims or returns? +
Contact your Rowin account contact with the claim description and photographs. Rowin acknowledges within 24 hours, conducts root cause analysis using batch traceability records and confirms resolution options — replacement, credit or corrective action.
